Mental health
The Sutton School Nursing team has produced two short, engaging videos to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people. Each video is tailored to a specific age group, helping children and adolescents understand stress and develop healthy coping strategies.
Primary-Aged Children
This video is designed for younger children and focuses on:
- Recognising and naming emotions
- Simple strategies to feel calm and safe
- Encouraging kindness, play, and talking to trusted adults
- Building healthy habits for body and mind
Adolescents (Teenagers)
- A clear explanation of what stress is
- How stress affects mental and physical health
- Practical strategies for managing stress, such as mindfulness, exercise, and seeking support
- Encouragement to talk openly about mental health
